Metalna Maribor

1990 so bili tozdi ukinjeni in ponovno združeni v organizacijo Metalna. Po letu 1990 je Metalna Maribor d.d. ustanovila več družb, med njimi Metalna Montaža investicijske opreme, Metalna Tovarna procesne industrije, Metalna ECCE.

Leta 1995 je Metalna ECCE prevzela vse proizvodne programe Metalne, nad ostalimi družbami je bil uveden stečajni postopek.

Leta 1997 je Metalna Maribor d.d. dokapitalizirala družbo Metalna ECCE in postala njena 99 odstotna lastnica. Maribor. Leto kasneje je bil v Metalni ECCE d.d. in Splošni stavbeni družbi d.d. Maribor uveden stečajni postopek.

Metalna Maribor

The beginnings of Metalna, the company for machine building, construction and installation date back to the year 1920, when a workshop of the Fala water plant became a separate company by the name Splošna stavbena družba Maribor Tezno (Maribor Tezno General Building Company). At first, the company produced iron constructions. In 1924, a factory of screws and rivets was established; the company built bridges, skeletal buildings, crane constructions, transmission line poles, mining devices, smaller pipelines, cisterns and reservoirs.

After 1945, they started engineering, manufacturing and installing hydro-mechanic equipment and cranes. In 1939, they already started building railway bridges in Greece and after 1945 they were equipping water power plants, harbours and factories all over the world, from Pakistan, Togo, Zambia, Peru, Iraq and Iran to Thailand, Cyprus and USA.

In 1959, Metalna was joined by the Factory of agricultural machinery (Tovarna poljedelskih strojev). The company opened a factory unit for constructions in Krmelj in 1963 and in Senovo a factory unit for the production of construction equipment in 1972.

In 1973, with the introduction of self governing relations to the economy and the reorganisation of work, Metalna was redesigned into a Basic Organisation of Associated Labour (TOZD). One year later, the company established a Research Institute.

In 1990, TOZDS were abolished and rejoined in Metalna. After 1990 Metalna Maribor d.d. founded several companies, including Metalna tovarna investicijske opreme (Metalna Factory of investment equipment), Metalna Montaža procesne industrije (Metalna Assembly of process industry) and Metalna ECCE.

In 1995, Metalna ECCE took over all production programmes of Metalna, while bankruptcy proceedings were started against other companies.

In 1997, Metalna Maribor d.d. recapitalised Metalna ECCE and acquired 99 % ownership of the company. In 1998, Metalna Maribor d.d. changed its name into Splošna stavbna družba d.d. Maribor (Maribor General Building Company). One year later, Metalna ECCE d.d. and Splošna stavbena družba d.d. Maribor went into bankruptcy.
