Poleg tovarne testenin v Mariboru, je imel tovarni v Zagrebu in Novem Sadu. Podjetje je bilo leta 1947 podržavljeno in preimenovano v Mlin in testenine Maribor. V petdesetih letih so podjetju priključili številne mlinarske in pekarske obrate iz Pomurja, Podravja in Koroške.

The steam-powered mill behind the main railway station was erected between 1874 and 1876. The mill owner Alojz pl. Kriehuber went bankrupt in 1883 and the mill was sold to Ludvik Franz. In 1897, Franz built a pasta factory beside the mill. From 1894 to 1945, the company operated under the name “Ludwig Franz & Söhne”. Beside the Maribor pasta factory, Franz also owned factories in Zagreb and Novi Sad. The company was nationalised in 1947 and renamed Mlin in testenine Maribor (Mill and Pasta Maribor). During the 1950’s, several smaller mills and bakeries from Pomurje, Podravje and Koroška region were added to the company. In 1964, the company was renamed Živilski kombinat Intes Maribor (Intes Food Combine Maribor). In 1969, the mills from Čakovec (Čakovački mlini), the trading company Dravski magazin from Radlje ob Dravi and the bakery Vinko Reš from Ptuj joined the Intes combine.

Intes rebuilt the pasta factory, renovated old and built new bakeries, erected a factory of soup croutons in Maribor and became the largest producer of soup additions in Yugoslavia. The company built grain silos for up to 50 tons of grain.

Today, Intes is part of the Žito Group.
